…and that idea was to walk around NYC in the dead of winter. Seriously though Diesels’ new ad campaign is awesome. We spent the day around 5th ave. Our first stop was Diesel. We found a couple cool things here. The first being a stylized baseball hat with a high density print and a cool metal trim.

We also picked up a cool light weight knit as well.

Also noticing that jelly’s are everywhere. I thought this would make a cool band for a fedora.

From the 5th ave. area we we ventured to the NOLITA area, where we found Victor Osbourne. It is a cool shop that makes everything onsite. Super cool people, with some real original hats. We found a cool new military that is quite unique. I had to throw in some pics of the shop as well.

We ran across a cool designers market place in Nolita that had a few cool knits and an interesting military with a unique closure.

First day on the ground in NYC and this is what we woke up to!

Spent the day shopping in “Snow” Ho. Our first stop was Olive and Bettes, a women’s boutique. Found a cute cloche with a triangle cut out in the brim and contrast stitching. See picture…

And then it snowed harder!

Next stop was Mieko Mintz, a cool boutique with its own milliner. Check out her website. She specializes in innovative knits and merino wool is her yarn of choice. There we picked up an asymmetrical 3-panel beanie.

We also picked up a more traditional circular cable knit beanie.

While venturing through the semi-frozen tundra we stumbled across a funky vintage store / art gallery. We found my favorite piece so far. A helmet liner from the Korean War! It is pretty rad. Check the pics.

One other plug. We did not get anything from here. …well I did get a custom fedora. They have the coolest trims and finishes, Pics in three weeks. Plus they have the raddest name ever.
